DOVER ART WEEK
Celebrate Creativity with The Amp & Dover Art Week
This month, Dover will hold its fourth annual Art Week, celebrating local artists from Sunday, July 26th through Saturday, August 1st!
Art Week has continued to honor the ways creative expression empowers resilience within community, and encourages social connection. Visit the official Dover Art Week page here!
The Richard’s Building has actually been part of Dover Art Week even before our creative hub was born; the Basement Bash event has been held in our basement for the past two years. Now that The Amp’s doors are officially open, we can contribute to the week even further!
Keep reading to learn the Dover Art Week activities in and around The Amp! All events are open to the public and first-come, first-serve.
Sunday July 26th; 1pm-3pm:
For Dover Art Week’s opening day, the Richards Building’s refreshed facade will serve as a backdrop for Art on Blackwell — a sidewalk art fest happening on Blackwell St. and Meridia Transit Plaza. Enjoy live music from local musicians and buy awesome art from vendors at this fun creative kickoff! This is also an opportunity to check out the upcoming Richards Mercantile retail space!
Monday July 27th–Thursday, July 30th:
Local artists will teach mini-classes in different venues throughout town each night of Dover Art Week. Expand this flyer for details on days and locations for the lessons, and the art mediums each will explore!
Friday, July 31st:
At Student Art Night, engage in creative discussions with local student artists at Sabor Latino!
Wednesday, July 29th:
Join us for Sculpture Night at The Richards Building on Wednesday! Learn how to sculpt your own masterpiece in the historic Richards Room!
Saturday, August 1st:
Experience the third annual Basement Bash – a rocking party in The Amp celebrating local creatives! We’ll have artist vendors showcasing their latest work, live music, and refreshments. Whether you’re someone who creates or appreciates art, you won’t want to miss it!
The Amp has evolved a lot since last year’s Dover Art Week, with state-of-the-art ceramics facilities, a high-tech, flexible performance space, and the mixed gallery / classrooms. Come by to see what we have to offer creatives!
